Why I Don’t Offer a “Client Wardrobe” for My Maternity & Newborn Sessions
As a Seattle maternity photographer and Seattle newborn photographer, I get asked if I offer a “client wardrobe.” You know — those racks of flowing dresses and cozy knits you’ve probably seen on Instagram. And while I totally get the appeal (and yes, those whites and light neutrals do photograph beautifully), here’s the truth: I don’t offer one.
Why? Because my job isn’t to make you look like everyone else. My job is to photograph you — your family, your personalities, your story — and sometimes that means leaning into the colors, patterns, and textures that make you you.
Sure, light, airy tones are dreamy (and if that’s your style, I’ll happily cheer you on!), but I never want to wash out the heart and soul of your session. Clothing plays a big role in telling your story, and I want that story to be authentically yours, not a copy-and-paste from a brand catalog.
But I Know… Picking Out Outfits Can Feel Overwhelming
I get it. Coordinating looks for a maternity or newborn session can feel like a puzzle — especially when you’re already busy preparing for a baby or juggling life with little ones. That’s why I’ve put together some tips to make it easier: What to wear for your Maternity Session

The Vibe is Yours to Create
Think of me as your guide, not your stylist. I’ll happily make suggestions, help you narrow down options, and offer tips on what photographs best… but ultimately, the vibe is yours to create. Whether that’s a soft, neutral palette or bold pops of color, I want your images to feel like your family, not a trend.
At the end of the day, the clothes you choose help tell your story — and that’s a story worth keeping real.
