My Favorite Spots for Fall Color in Seattle

Finding that iconic autumn foliage in the PNW can feel illusive during fall photo season, but I do have some of my favorite spots that tend to work out year after year!
🍁
I've compiled 6 of my favorite spots in this post to help you decide where you want to take family photos this year, or even just head out for a nature adventure with your family this season!

Bonus location!: Lincoln Park, West Seattle

Fall foliage can wildly unpredictable, but it generally peaks around mid-October in Seattle. Trees on the streets turn more quickly than those in the parks, and we can also usually find at least some color earlier + later in the season!

Green Lake

Green Lake is always a go-to! It can be crowded, so I recommend shooting in the early mornings for the calmest session experience

Luther Burbank

Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island is a new favorite. Lots of open space to run around, and a beautiful variety of foliage!

Discovery Park

Discovery Park is one of the best location any time of year! There isn’t as much color variety here, but there is still great fall vibes.

The Arboretum

The Arboretum is a classic! Trees tend to turn later here so this is a good option for later October, or early November.

Woodland Park

This hidden gem is located in Woodland Park. Since it’s off the beaten path, it’s usually a bit quieter! Great for weekday minis.

Seward Park

Seward Park has som gorgeous foliage and is a great option for South Seattle + some water views!

Green Lake

Lincoln Park, West Seattle
