One of the greatest honors of my work as a photographer is getting to document families year after year. These are the families I affectionately call my “forever families.”

It starts with one session — maybe maternity, newborn, or family photos. And then, before I know it, I’m back again the next year, capturing birthdays, milestones, holidays, and everyday moments in between. Watching children grow up in front of my camera is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Building Relationships Over the Years

With each session, something shifts. The kids recognize me, and instead of being shy in front of the camera, they’re excited — running up to give me hugs, showing me what they’ve learned since I last saw them. Parents relax more, too, because they know my style and trust me to capture their family exactly as they are.

There’s a creative trust that grows when I photograph a family year after year. They’ve already fallen in love with my eye and approach, which allows me to do my best work — to notice the little in-between moments and document their unique family story.

Watching Families Grow

It’s an incredible privilege to witness and capture so many seasons: tiny newborn toes, first steps, missing teeth, middle school giggles, and high school milestones. Through all of it, there’s one constant — the love that connects a family.

Seeing that love deepen and shift as kids grow older is a gift. And it’s even more special knowing that I get to create a visual history that families will treasure for generations.
